Homework #13, the Final Project, and the Final

Dates:

  Essay due @ class, Dec 2nd.  Check in under 'essay/'.

  HW #13 (use AJAX to do login validation; assoc tests) due Dec 4th, @ class.

  Survey, as mandatory as I can make it, Dec 4th @ beginning of class.
    (Will also be Web accessible)

  Final project due at beginning of final, 1pm Dec 8th.

  FINAL period is 1pm-2:45pm, Dec 8th.

    Anyone wanting to demo their final project...?

    Pizza will be served.

    Bitch session.

Final project guidelines:

  Do something "cool".

    Switch to MySQL or PostgreSQL

    Use AJAX "suggest" (c.f. Google Suggest) for movie searching

    Load more IMDB info in.

    Put in some ExtJS (extjs.com) windows

    etc.

  Treat it as not much more than a HW, but implement things in your
  own direction.

  Sending me a short note about what you plan to do (either under
  'final/proposal.txt' or via e-mail) is a good idea.
  
  Collaborative projects are fine but should go in multiple directions.

  Put under 'final/'.

  Today: security, XSS, XSRF

  Tuesday Dec 2nd: deployment, architecture, workflow, cloud computing

  Thursday Dec 4th: survey; scotch; Selenium IDE and RC; threading & locking;
  	       	    other odds-and-ends; Google AppEngine?
