[bip] das server implementation?

hi, our lab is required to make some data available via das server[1].
the only thing i can find for python is this:
http://portal.open-bio.org/pipermail/das/2002-August/000525.html
which points to a (missing) tar-ball of a client implementation by dalke.

anyone know of any python server implementation? if not, got recommendations
for a perl or other server?

is anyone using das?
