Thanks for the link Alex - I haven't tried that one yet. I see
Thomas Mailund (who wrote quickjoin) is one of the authors
of RapidNJ. He also has a nice python module for parsing
Newick tree files: http://www.daimi.au.dk/~mailund/newick.html
