[twill] wsgi_intercept, https and twill

What is the correct method of getting twill to work with a standalone
install of wsgi_intercept? 

I can't see any doco on the wsgi_intercept site that refers to using
twill. 

If I use the mechanize example to construct a browser it bypasses all
the twill additions (and requires a standalone install of mechanize).

Not sure if it is related but I'm using workingenv to keep everything
isolated from the system-wide python install.
