Ahh, but the layer underlying CPython can be trivially played with.
There's no reason to resort to deep cpython magic when basic trickery
will fill in just as well. This allow you to completely ignore the
system installed version of BeautifulSoup without having to worry about
concurrent installations:

$ darcs replace BeautifulSoup BeautifulTwillSoup twill/other_packages/*.py
$ darcs mv twill/other_packages/BeautifulSoup.py twill/other_packages/BeautifulTwillSoup.py
$ nosetests
