It would be much more helpful if you could narrow down the problem.
Try implementing a minimal, *complete* example of a subclass that
still causes the behaviour you describe, where you can't make it
simpler without losing that behaviour.

Then, if you still need others to look at it, feel free to post that
minimal complete example.
