Yes, I'll be at the 2/17 meetup to talk logistics. Having folks
from django / socal piggies at one booth would be great. The list
of exhibitors (commercial and open-source community) have been
growing. We haven't reached our max yet, however it's getting
there. I just pinged the head of community exhibitors 10 min ago on
IM - no answer just yet. I'll send an update email to the DL, when
I get some info.
we should take some time that evening to hammer out the

I subscribe to the SoCal Piggies mailing

If Piggies declines or if any other space is

The project is particularly interesting for
Linux enthusiasts due to the ability to
"mine" for bitcoins, potentially earning
hundreds of dollars a month simply by
letting a computer's GPU crunch away:
That's what I envision as something to
demonstrate and something that is likely
interesting to those visiting our booth --
i.e., a Linux-based GPU mining machine
hashing away, earning bitcoins.

The BItcoin project is novel. At this time
last year if Bitcoin were in a booth at
Scale, nearly everyone who knew anything
about Bitcoin would have physically fit all
together inside that one booth. Today,
those involved in Bitcoin number in the
thousands (globally):
I've attended several previous Scale expos
and use a Linux environment nearly
exclusively.
Hopefully I have described adequately how
Bitcoin would be a sensational linux-based

and have provided enough background to
assure you that Bitcoin.org's first boot at
Scale will be a resounding success.
anything further, please let me know. I
look forward to hearing from you.
