[socal-piggies] save your py-dollars: meetup.com organizer

Um I disagree with Alex and this advertising approach,
A 1$ member acquisition is a completely unsubstantiated. Without going
into it, I'll just say that conventional advertising doesnt work for grass
roots membership drives. I propose fostering a community rather than buying
it.

I've been to maybe 4 of the last 7 meetings. Ive enjoyed all. I would
have watched a video of the 3 that i had missed. I would assume that other
python members would do the same if they missed a meeting. Better yet,
publishing our videos would serve as a real indicator of our offering thus,
attracting serious potential leads. A good video would spread throughout
python chatter and be seminated for the good of the macro python community
further driving interest to our chapter. If the videos gain any traction
then we could serve adsense on the page and use the proceeds for a ppc
purchase (call it acquisition arbitrage).
cheers,
     James
PS- The .Net user group was laughing about wiping out our campaign in 10
minutes with their fraudulent clicks. (Joke)
