<div dir="ltr">Hello everyone,<div><br></div><div>We have constructed a little challenge for you. You should work in groups to solve an assembly puzzle which will give you a clue (scavenger hunt style) to a hidden prize. </div>
<div><br></div><div>We're providing you with reads (in FASTA format) from our sequencing run on the new POWERSEQ3000 sequencer. You'll need to use an assembly program (for example: MINIA or VELVET) to assemble the data. You can check the optimal k-mer size for the assembly process if you wish. You may have to error correct for sequencing read errors, indels, etc, based on your assembly consensus. Once you have a assembly which you feel confident with <a href="http://text2dna.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/" target="_blank">you should convert your sequences to text instructions </a><a href="http://text2dna.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/" target="_blank">(use this script)</a><a href="http://text2dna.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/" target="_blank"> which will direct you to find the prize </a>.</div>
<div><br></div><div>We suggest working in groups using your EC2 instances. You should start by making sure your instances are running, and you have all the tools installed that you will need for the challenge.<br>
