* CALL   FOR   WORKSHOP   AND   TUTORIAL   PROPOSALS *

ECAL 2015 - 13th EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON ARTIFICIAL LIFE

The 13th European Conference on Artificial Life (ECAL 2015) will be held in
York, United Kingdom, 20-24 July 2015, hosted by the York Centre for
Complex
Systems Analysis at the The University of York.

ECAL2015 will showcase a wide range of topics in Artificial Life, bringing
together world-leading researchers to discuss the latest advances in
Artificial Life.  Artificial Life is an interdisciplinary field, and as
such
welcomes submissions from across the spectrum of scientific and humanities
disciplines, that consider the main conference themes of “Embodiment,
Interaction, Conversation”.

The ECAL 2015 Organising Committee invites you to submit proposals for
Tutorials
and  Workshops to be held in conjunction with the main conference.



* I M P O R T A N T   D A T E S   &   I N F O R M A T I O N

Submission Workshop/Tutorial proposal:         21 January, 2015
Notification of Acceptance Workshop/Tutorial:  4 February, 2015
Main Conference convenes:                      20-24 July, 2015

* W O R K S H O P S

Workshops at ECAL 2015 are intended to be satellite events to the main
conference.  They should focus on novel and/or specialised aspects of
Artificial Life.  They are intended to act as fora for cutting edge
research,
in which new ideas or themes can be explored in smaller, more specialised
groups than the main event.

Workshops should be half day, or one day, events.

The organisers of accepted workshops are responsible for:

- publicity
- workshop web site
- content (including calls for papers and reviews)
- publication (if applicable)

The ECAL 2015 committee provide:

- suitable seminar room space
- presentation equipment
- catering
- links from main conference website

In addition, each workshop can request *one* free registration for a
workshop keynote speaker (not an organiser) where appropriate.



* T U T O R I A L S

Tutorials at ECAL 2015 are intended to be satellite events to the main
conference.  They should be aimed at instructing / educating the audience
in aspects of more established or specialised techniques that are of
interest to Artificial Life researchers.

Each tutorial will consist of one session of up to three hours duration.

The organisers of accepted tutorials are responsible for:

- publicity
- tutorial content and delivery

The ECAL 2015 committee provide:

- suitable seminar room space
- presentation equipment
- catering
- web hosting for a 250 word summary of the tutorial



* S U B M I S S I O N   F O R M A T

Submissions for proposals for workshops and tutorials are invited.

Each tutorial/workshop proposal should include:

1: TITLE
2: NAME, AFFILIATION & CONTACT DETAILS OF ORANGISERS
3: DESCRIPTION (250 WORDS)
4: Details of any potential presenters / participants
5: (workshops only) Duration: half day or whole day
6: Details of whether the event has been held previously in a
   similar format
7: Anticipated number of participants
8: (workshops only) URL of the event website
9: (workshops only) Details of any proposed publications
   anticipated to arise from the event

Each proposal will be reviewed with respect to its relevance to
the conference, anticipated interest from the community, and
expertise and credentials of the proposers.
