* Notification of acceptance of tutorial proposals: December 18, 2013

** WORKSHOP Proposals **

The PPSN 2014 Organizing Committee invites proposals for workshops to be
held in conjunction with PPSN 2014. Proposals are due November 18, 2013.
The workshops are intended to be forums for presenting and discussing new
approaches, visions, or critical reflections within a subfield. They
provide an excellent opportunity to meet people with similar interests, to
be exposed to cutting-edge research, and to exchange ideas in an informal
setting. The organizers of an accepted workshop are responsible for its
coordination, publicity, collecting and reviewing the papers/abstracts, and
for maintaining a webpage providing a list of accepted talks. The workshops
can be half day or a full day long. Attendance at the workshops will be
free of charge for all PPSN 2014 attendees. For detailed information see
http://ppsn2014.ijs.si/?show=cfw.

** Proposal Preparation **

A workshop proposal should include:
* title of the workshop
* brief description of the workshop topics
* potential target participants and audience
* roughly approximated number of participants
* rough estimate of the number of talks
* contact details and a short CV of the organizer(s)

** Reviewing **

Workshop proposals will be reviewed by the PPSN 2014 Workshop Chairs and
PPSN 2014 Organizing Committee, based on expected PPSN attendees’ interest,
depth of the topics, and the expertise of the workshop organizers.

** Information and Submissions **

Workshop Chairs: Evert Haasdijk, VU University Amsterdam, The Netherlands,
and Tea Tusar, Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia

** TUTORIAL Proposals **

The PPSN 2014 Organizing Committee invites proposals for tutorials.
Proposals are due November 18, 2013. The tutorial topic should enjoy broad
interest within the community. It can be an established or emerging
research topic within the field itself, but also from a related research
field or about an interesting application area. The proposed topic should
be broad enough to provide a gentle introduction to the research area, but
it should also cover the most important contributions in depth. The planned
duration of the tutorials is two hours. Attendance at the tutorials will be
free of charge for all PPSN 2014 attendees. For detailed information, see
http://ppsn2014.ijs.si/?show=cft.

** Proposal Preparation **

A tutorial proposal should include:
* title of the tutorial
* brief abstract
* a tutorial description in syllabus form
* lecturers' names, addresses, emails, and short CVs
* potential target participants and audience

** Reviewing **

Tutorial proposals will be reviewed by the PPSN 2014 Tutorial Chairs and
PPSN 2014 Organizing Committee, based on expected PPSN attendees’ interest,
depth of the topics, and the expertise of the tutorial organizers.

** Information and Submissions **

Tutorial Chairs: Shih-Hsi "Alex" Liu, California State University, Fresno,
USA, and Marjan Mernik, University of Maribor, Slovenia
