Dear colleagues,

This is 2nd Call for Abstracts for the Sixth International Workshop on Guided Self-Organisation (GSO-2013) to be held on September 18, 2013 at the 2013 European Conference on Complex Systems http://eccs13.eu . ECCS2013 takes place in Barcelona, 16 to 20 September 2013:

The workshop will bring together researchers from a richly diverse background who share interest in understanding and designing self-organizing systems. Of particular interest are well-founded, but general methods for characterizing such systems in a principled way with the view of ultimately allow them to be guided toward prespecified goals. Information theory, nonlinear dynamics and graph theory are core to many of these methods, and quantifying complexity and its sources is a common theme.

Confirmed keynote speakers include: Fumiya Iida, Marc Timme, and Paul Verschure.

Submissions to the workshop are extended abstracts (one-two pages). If interested in participating, send an extended abstract (by 16 July 2013) by email to:

prokopenko.mikhail at gmail.com

The notifications are expected by 31 July 2013.

Authors of accepted submissions will present the content to the workshop (either a scheduled 30 minutes presentation or a poster). It is expected that post-workshop publication of selected papers will follow in a special journal issue (as has been the case for previous GSO workshops).
