BEACON is an NSF Science and Technology Center headquartered at Michigan
State University with partners at North Carolina A&T State University,
University of Idaho, University of Texas at Austin, and University of
Washington. BEACON brings together biologists, computer scientists, and
engineers to study evolutionary dynamics using biological and computational
techniques and to apply evolutionary principles to engineering problems. We
seek outstanding post-doctoral scholars to pursue interdisciplinary research
on evolution in action with BEACON faculty members, in the fields of
biology, computer science, and/or engineering.****

Applicants will propose a research project within the scope of BEACON’s
mission and must have two BEACON faculty sponsors who will serve as research
mentors should the fellowship be awarded. At least one sponsor must be from
the MSU faculty; the other sponsor may be from any of the five BEACON
institutions. Preference is given for interdisciplinary research. The
postdoc fellow will be based at Michigan State University in East Lansing.
