Keele University is seeking to appoint two lecturers in Computer Science
(see advert text below).  We would very much welcome applications from
individuals who are research active within Artificial Life,
Computational Intelligence, Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems, Natural
Computation or a related field.  Details of Keele's Computational
Intelligence and Cognitive Science (CICS) group’s research can be found

For those unfamiliar with the British system, a lecturer is roughly
equivalent to an assistant professor, but without tenure review: these
are permanent faculty positions for research active individuals,
although inexperienced lecturers may be subject to a probationary
period.  Keele University was founded in 1949 and is situated in a very
beautiful and spacious campus in the middle of England, in the county of
Staffordshire.  Keele places a high value on excellent research and we
support nationally and internationally competitive expertise throughout
the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Health and Humanities.

Starting salary (depending on experience):
Grade 7a £31,514 - £36,533 or Grade 8 £37,651 - £44,931

The School of Computing and Mathematics invites applications for
Lecturers in Computer Science from enthusiastic individuals committed to
high quality teaching and research. Two posts are available and will be
based at Keele University in North Staffordshire. The successful
candidates will be expected to contribute to teaching at all levels, and
in particular, to play a significant role in the new single honours
undergraduate programme in Computer Science.

The postholders will be expected to develop an active research programme
within the Environment, Physical Sciences and Applied Mathematics
(EPSAM) Research Institute. The School's existing research strengths are
in Software Engineering and Computational Intelligence & Cognitive
Science. Applications are welcome from any specialism within Computing
however specialists in Human Computer Interaction, User-Centred Design,
Systems Design, Creative Computing or Project Management are
particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a PhD in a computing discipline or substantial
experience of research and development in industry; experience of
teaching and assessment in HE; evidence of an established (applicants
for Grade 8) or developing (applicants for Grade 7a) track record of
research excellence; record of publication in peer reviewed journals and
excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
