Dear ALife Community,
Keele University is seeking to appoint three teaching fellows who will
register for PhDs in Computer Science (see advert text below). Teaching
Fellow activities will average 14 hours per week, leaving the rest of
your time free to work on your PhD. We would very much welcome
applications from individuals with an interest in pursuing PhDs within
Artificial Life, Computational Intelligence, Evolutionary and Adaptive
Systems, Natural Computation or a related field. Details of Keele's
Computational Intelligence and Cognitive Science (CICS) group’s research
can be found in the posts' further particulars (see below) and on our

To be eligible for one of the posts you will have (or expect to receive
this summer) an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related
subject (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) and an ability to teach and assess
in Higher Education. Please note that the closing date for applications
is 16 June 2009: less than two weeks away! Initially the posts is fixed
term for four years, with a starting salary of £28,839 pro rata. In
addition PhD tuition fees will be waived at the Home/EU rate

TEACHING FELLOW IN COMPUTER SCIENCE (THREE POSTS)
With registation for a PhD (part-time)
FIXED TERM (FOUR YEARS)
Starting salary: Grade 6b £28,839 (pro-rata) 0.4FTE
We invite applications for three part-time (40%) teaching fellowships in
Computer Science. Post holders will have the opportunity to register
part-time for a Ph.D. Ph.D tuition fees will be waived by the University
at the Home/EU rate. Teaching Fellow activities will average 14 hours
per week but will be variable through the year, with a greater
commitment expected during teaching weeks.
As a teaching fellow you will contribute to teaching and assessment
activities across the undergraduate curriculum, including lectures,
practical classes and tutorials.
You will have (or expect to have) a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent)
undergraduate qualification in Computer Science or a related subject and
an ability to teach and assess in Higher Education. The post requires
strong organisation skills and excellent team working and communication
skills.
