CALL FOR PAPERS & PARTICIPATION
The 12th Asia-Pacific Symposium on Intelligent & Evolutionary
Systems(IES'08)
7 ~ 8 December 2008, University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia
NOTE: EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 3 October 2008
Proudly sponsored and supported by:
ARC Complex Open Systems Network (COSNet)
Clayton School of Information Technology, Monash University
Monash University Centre for Research in Intelligent Systems (CRIS)
University of Melbourne
The ARC Centre for Complex Systems (ACCS)
Aims and Objectives:
Intelligent and adaptive systems using evolutionary computation
techniques have attracted increasing attentions in recent years. They
are more robust than traditional systems based on formal logics for many
real world problems. They can adapt to an unknown environment without
explicitly modeling the environment. They can also be applied to a wide
range of practical problems.
This Symposium aims at bringing together researchers from various
countries of Asian Pacific Rim in the fields of intelligent systems and
evolutionary computation to exchange ideas, present recent results and
discuss possible collaborations. Researchers from elsewhere interested
in collaboration with researchers from Asian Pacific Rim are also welcome.
Keynote speaker:
Professor Hussein Abbass, University of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW,
Australia.
Keynote Address:
The Future of Intelligent Systems is Non-Dominance
