(2nd announcement)
The University of Bristol is seeking to appoint two lecturers in
complexity science (see advert text below).
For those unfamiliar with the British system, a lecturer is roughly
equivalent to an assistant professor, but without tenure review... these
are permanent faculty positions for research-focussed individuals.
Best wishes,
James Marshall

Lectureship in Complexity Sciences (Two posts) (vacancy ref. 13536)
The University of Bristol has recently launched the Bristol Centre for
Complexity Sciences, a doctoral training centre supported by a £4M EPSRC
grant. This major initiative involves 13 departments across the
University. As a Lecturer in Complexity Sciences, you will use
computational and/or mathematical methods to answer substantive
questions in complexity sciences ranging across engineering, life
sciences and molecular sciences. You will also teach postgraduate
students on the first year of their four year PhD programme and
supervise them in subsequent years. Candidates with interests in
computer science backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply, as
are those whose field of application covers the molecular sciences and
