                                       WILF 2007
7th International Workshop on Fuzzy Logic and Applications
Hotel Portofino Kulm - Portofino Vetta, Ruta di Camogli (Genova), Italy
                                      July 7-10, 2007

             Conference Website: http://wilf2007.disi.unige.it

WILF 2007 covers all topics in theoretical, experimental and applied fuzzy
techniques and systems and is aimed to bring together researchers
and developers from both academia and industry to report on the latest
scientific and theoretical advances, to discuss and debate major issues
and to demonstrate state-of-the-art systems.

WILF 2007 aims to stress the role and the synergies of Fuzzy Sets and
Systems and the other approaches of Natural Computing (that ranges from
Neural Networks, Evolutionary Computation, Fuzzy Sets, Support Vector
Machines to Ant Colony Optimization, Particle Swarm Optimization, Molecular
Computing, Quantum Computing, and so on), in order to obtain a better
understanding of computing going on in Nature as well as develop powerful
computing systems inspired by Nature for solving complex problems.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

   1. General techniques and algorithms: Fuzzy Sets; Rough Sets; Possibility
Theory; Fuzzy Logic; Fuzzy Systems; Neuro-Fuzzy Systems; Representation of
Vague and Imprecise Knowledge; Fuzzy Evolutionary Algorithms; Fuzzy Pattern
Recognition; Fuzzy Data Fusion.
   2. Applications: Bioinformatics; Broadcasting; Control; Communications;
Information Retrieval; Intelligent Resource Management; Knowledge
Management; Medical; Opto-mechatronics; Remote Sensing; Robotics; Semantic
Web; Speech Analysis; Television; Telepresence; Virtual Reality.
   3. Implementations: Analog and Digital Circuits and Systems; Architectures
and VLSI Hardware; Programmable Processors; Commercial Software.

Prof. Ronald Yager of Iona College, New York, USA, has confirmed to deliver
one invited talk at WILF 2007.

The scientific program will include, besides some invited talks, contributed
papers that will be presented in plenary oral or poster sessions. Two special
sessions on "Soft Computing in Image Processing" and "Bioinformatics" are
already planned.
Proceedings of WILF 2007 will published by an international publisher. A
selection of papers will be peer reviewed for originality, technical
contents and relevance and will be considered for publication in
a special issue of a scientific journal.
